Putting your Megado together

The Megado loom is available in 5 different weaving widths and 2 castle sizes.

First, one must choose between 16 shafts or 32 shafts.

Weaving widths are:

  • 40cm (16")

  • 70cm (2.5")

  • 90cm (35.5")

  • 110cm (43.5")

  • 130cm (51.5")

Louët sells the loom and Dobby separately, so when looking at prices, you need both items for a complete price.

The Louët Megado arrives in 4 boxes, plus 1 for an electronic dobby, or 2 for a mechanical dobby.

The main loom is broken down into A - the castle box, largest and most awkward to handle. It is 12-20" wide, 3 feet tall and between 30" to 66" long.

Box B contains all the shorter pieces of wood and hardware and is the heaviest box (unless you have a 110-32 or 130-32, then box A is heaviest.

Boxes C & D are longer and loom width dependent. They contain the warp beams, back and breast beams and other longer pieces of wood.

The loom comes with a well written assembly manual and the assembly video, shown below is also available from Louët.
