In this short course, we'll dip our toes into weaving with two heddles using a direct warping method! This course shows the most simple way to use two heddles in your weaving. It's a lot easier than it seems, and it allows us to use finer yarns with two heddles with the same dents per inch.

We are showing making the Euroflax 14/2 Plain Weave towels, a very classic linen towel that you'll love using! This pattern is attached in the course for reference. This is a very popular towel with floor loom weavers, and this proves you can weave these towels on your rigid heddle with two 8-dent reeds to obtain 16 ends per inch.

The course starts out with video content for the following steps to set up for weaving with itwo heddles using the direct warping method.

  • winding the direct warp

  • beaming the warp

  • threading heddle two

  • threading heddle one

  • checking the threading and tying onto the apron rod

At the end, there is instruction with videos using the same Euroflax 14/2 Plain weave towels, but this time winding a warp chaing and using the Indirect Warping Method. The threading of the heddles and tying on is the same as direct warping.
